This artistic team goes away from 'shiny'/cartoon-ish and towards 'traditional'/retro looks (e.g. lots of wood). It will bring a shakeup in the player base but it may bring others, 'traditionalists'. Most of players don't realize it since they only think consciously of gameplay technicalities but it will affect them. Personally, I run away from retro but I know others do the opposite.

Change in people filling in the artist spots on the team might have something to do with it: different view and preference of the artists.

Yes there's definitely a change in direction. It may sound trivial to many here ('male militarist minds'') but it affects people a lot. e.g. If you make a game with Cowboys in the Old West do you think you'll gather many non Americans?

Though i think the new weapons look flawless individually, i kinda dislike the direction this is going stylewise. In my opinion the new weapons got too much hillbilly appeal to seamlessly integrate into our current arsenal. On the other hand, maybe im just having the wrong perception of the game, overrating the urban in Urban Terror :>

First of all very nice work concerning the Magnum!!! The flags are awesome too!!! I personally like the K-Bar very much I think what many of the critics want is a "rambo" knife taking up 2/3 of the screen and would only then call it a "real K-Bar". For the FR-F1 sniper rifle I would say it's a real nice build but I also thinks this goes toward a more "traditional" kind of style which in my opinion doesn't really fit into UrT, I mean it would be a perfect gun for battlefield or other type of more "traditional" fps. My question would be is the Sr8 going to disappear from UrT or does he just needs a little reworking on the design?
Overall very nice design and textures!!! Nice work to all the Dev's who took part in these projects, and I hope this brings us one step closer to the release of 4.2 ?

I think this new sniper is more into old style but i dont see it as ww2 sniper any way. It looks very much like a hunting rifle and i would love to hunt those bunnies of urt with it <3.
And one thing too is that i think it does fit pretty good into "hollywood tactical shooter theme" its still pretty odd that first they claim that they arent replacing hardly anything and next they replace community favourite weapon
