wow the new jumping animation is horrid, just keep the old one as it is lol
or keep it with less exaggeration on legs flying everywhere like a monkey and I can see it working.

As the Devs confirmed, the animations obviously werent final at the RC.

^^
As everyone knows, the new animation will be based on real life parkour, meaning if you do a walljump you will see hands and legs jumping/pushing against the wall. In urt.4.1 you might call the player a wooden doll, in urtHD the player is a monkey, in urt.4.2 they will prepare you for the real monkey jumping of the future hd.
That animation (jumping MUST be realistic with legs and arms!) is a decision made long ago and that wont change.
If you dont like it now, you wont like it in final version or in urtHD either.
That doesnt take it away that you can get accustomed to it.
Though i myself find the new animation distractive, to much movement for such a fast paced game. And i find the urt.4 animation very stylish. But tbh i cant say much if i havent played with it for weeks/months, i dont complain and i wil be happy to play with sumthing newish

driller you are wrong
Apparently even they have admitted that the current jumping animations looks awkward/funny now and it will be fixed. Just a little less spreading out on the legs and arm can fix this and if you think the current monkey jumps look "realistic" that's just LOL
Nobody has given a positive feedback now and this has been stated at the LAN, comments in the video and basically anybody who has seen it.

What new stuff were they expecting? Barbie published the change log so why would you expect something else?
Players are like children , btw as you said (for HD) months ago there shall be surprises & indeed most players no matter if they confess it or not expect surprises & will be more happy if there are few surprises instead of being informed for everything before .
So maybe they don't read on purpose to keep the surprise moment ? :D
It's one to read it , but to see it is different ,then the emotion is bigger ;) .
