We do not have to prove someone was cheating but rather a cheat was used by a player account and it's the account that’s been banned from playing on any authenticated server.

What the AC reported was direct Empirical evidence as to what was happening on the client side that was either true or false with out evaluation or interpretation of Empirical data and then a set of “rules” was applied based on a numerical sum total of the number of events.

The only real question is there such a thing as a little cheating?

The consensus of the community at large is “no” and the need is for zero tolerance.

However.

What is beginning to emerge is a clear picture as to whats happening, as far as cheating goes, between 4.1 and 4.2.014 and with the rapid distribution through the updater in that a lot of the real bad cheaters, who download public cheats, have more or less disappeared leaving but a handful of what I would considered skilled cheaters.

Granted Demos would be nice but for the most part they are only effective against really bad cheaters and difficult to use as proof positive against a skilled cheater as compared to pro techniques that can just as easily be confused with cheat like behavior.
