I am wondering if i could/should start a map and then I can set flags/attributes later to certain objects/materials because we will get standardised things...
I dont know how it works/ will work.
Or should we all go ahead make our own models with animations?
And make physics manipulations for icy as an example if we want our icy to be some other color or something like that?
PS: Been playing around with the editor for a while now. Just nothing with animations or physics done yet... and I don't want to make anything unnecessary :P
Aside from what Frankie said, I would suggest that the safest route at this point would be to just focus on the general layout and build of the map, and then plug in behaviours later when it's clear how they are being implemented. Even with things like doors I would wait, until there is a defined standard behaviour (it would be pretty silly if some doors open to the touch, others on button press, some others can be shot open, etc).
I'm sure there will be some kind of mapping toolkit eventually, although I think that everyone (including Epic themselves) is still trying to figure out how this will work exactly. The UE4 ecosystem is super exciting, but also still in constant flux. It changes a lot of what we used to take for granted about mods and custom maps.
