Mitsu was using AppData folder, it was fine.
I've given a try at 4.2 again, with your build. All works well.
I did not understand one thing though. You say Mouse5 is now K_MOUSE5, but it is still Mouse5 which works, not K_MOUSE5 (but it's a good thing, I prefer Mouse5).

Oh, my bad then. I just installed the 4.2 version today, and haven't really tried it out when I was told about your own build.
But I still have no clue how to change the place where demos are stored. :D

Make sure that you set the CVARS in either autoexec.cfg or q3config.cfg. Then check them while in game, in the console check the CVARS by doing for example /s_mixahead without any parameter to get the value currently set. Contact me in PM for my email address so that I can help you out.
