The disconnection between some members of the development team and the actual state of the game is a sad truth. You shouldn't be making executive decisions dictating game play or changes to the game when you yourself don't play the game. That being said I'm very pleased with some of the current members of the development team.

You're probably right. That being said, there still needs to be some sort of direction that pull requests have. Random changes to the game play are ill-advised. Whereas improvements to the game in general are what we should be aiming for. Better stats, better menu's, improvements to FPS, graphics, bug fixes, etc.
I think this is where FS could come in with deciding what PR's are accepted and what aren't. There will still be the official FS branch.
