Gonna buy an Intel Core2 Quad CPU along with a Asus P5K3 Deluxe motherboard and a Asus 8800 GTS 512MB GPU and I was wondering if anyone here plays UrT on a quad and if you had/have any problems with it.
Cheers.

BK does and I believe she has a steady 125fps on ioUrbanTerror, without needing to set affinity. I think she did need to turn off 'threaded optimization' and set it to 'single display' in the Nvidia settings for ioUrbanTerror though. I dunno how quake3.exe does.

ooo...BK, please post your hardware specs, OS, graphics card settings (all types of AA and AF), and UrT in-game graphics settings. I'm looking to move to a Penryn quad-core and I'm curious to know how a seasoned UrT gamer & programmer configures their settings for current-gen cpu & gpu hardware.
To one-up that--I'd love to see a page with all of the FS staff, with the info I requested above. It's interesting to compare hardware, and to see how the team configures the game. Any chance of that? The easy part is making the page(s) and plugging in the info; the hard part is getting everybody to submit their info. We did this a few years ago on our clan's homepage: http://web.archive.o...rs&name=CRIMENY

For me:
OS: WinXP SP3RC
CPU: Intel C2D 6750@3.2Ghz
RAM: 2GB DDR2 800Mhz
GPU: Nvidia GF7900GT TOP Edition using Nvidia Forceware 163.71.
HD: 2x250GB Sata2 in RAID-0
Mouse: Logitech MX510
Screen: Samsung 226BW 22inch widescreen
Running UrT in 1680x1050. 8xAF, 4xAA, multi display/mixed GPU set to 'single', threaded optimization set to 'off'. No messing with affinity needed. Everything in-game set to high (through system and game options menu). Vsync enabled, fps always 60. When vsync disabled always 125, except for a few spots on tombs/suburbs/uptown it drops to 100 or so. But I enable vsync, cause I hate tearing.

With the iourbanterror that came with 4.1 I don't have to set it to single display mode or disable the threading optimization. I don't have to set affinity anymore either. I have 16x AF and 4x AA and get a steady 125 fps. With the older io and q3 I had to set affinity to 1 core.
