32 slots or more is pointless, 45 or 64 is just ridiculousness.
It only leads to poor gameplay and a lot of blocking. Bad company 2 has 32 player slot limit and the game is 5 times slower and has maps that are 5 times bigger than UrT maps.
I honestly hope slot limit stays 24 as it was announced.

As someone mentioned before, sometimes the mapper wants death to be a consequence of failure.
I don't think yet another cvar is the thing to do here to fix this though.
The only reason jumpers die is because surfaceparm nodamage does not apply correctly to the upward facing edges of brushes. If this bug were fixed, then making jumpers invincible in jump mode would not be required.
Incidentally, surface sounds also don't work on brush edges, perhaps this is related.
