Humm strange I don’t seem to have a problem with any of the maps. I’ll give it another go but in the mean time if you own Q3 you can try copying the Quake3 asset file into your UrT directory and use it’s DM maps and such. There are some issues of using doors and texture issues as well but they are all bot ready and could do until there is time to fix the UrT maps.
Ok while I was writing this I figured I take another look and spend a bit more time with the bots. I don’t think that the problem is with the bots or the maps but the crash occurs when a player or a bot attempts to use a grenade. I can play freely with no problems on all the maps until I try to toss one.
If someone can confirm if this the case then that could be something that might be easily fixed in the next version.

Humm I just finished up playing for a half an hour on a q3 map with 15 bots and everything ran fine until like I said I used tried to use a grenade. I’m going to assume that the same thing happens if a bot tries to use one and if they are on the other side of the map could give the impression that it’s a stability issue.
For testing player models I usually use really dumb bots with a setting of one so I’m kind of assuming that at that level they are not allowed to use grenades. I’ll give it another go but set the bots to their highest level.

Can you be more accurate about the part of copying files . I have ioquake3 on my linux box(with the original pak0.pk3 from quake 3) what do i copy and where ? Do i copy the quake3 pack file inside my ~/q3a/q3ut4/ directory ? Do you think if i try to run urban terror as a mode for quake3 (if you have a download link please post it here) i could have more stability with those maps?

Well all I did was drag a copy of the pak0.pk3 file from my Quake3 baseq3 directory to my q2ut4 directory and typed bot_enable 1 followed by devmap q3dm<1 through 13>. I then just exec a script file that had all the bots already set up. Works great except it’s kind of freaky. Just don’t use grenades as I think the system used to run the bots does not have the code the mod has so it does crash when you try to use them.
Don’t think playing it as a mod under Q3 will really solve anything as more than one or two of us seem to have very little problems at least getting bots to work under UrT.
Tell ya what give it a go and if it still locks up let me know and I’ll post my q3config file. Maybe there is something in there that I set but cant remember that makes it all work.

Well I hear that casa crashes a lot, but when it comes to turnpike, for me anyways, it is very rare that the game crashes.
If I wanted to, I could literally go for hours against bots on tp. In fact, I can't even remember the last time I ever had a crash on tp. Weird.
But I keep hearing that casa is terrible. I think the longest game I ever heard of anyone having against bots on casa was like maybe 10 minutes at the most.

Indeed the only thing i do if a kill a bot that has grenades is to take and use them . I will try that as well, i will copy pak0.pk3 into /q3ut4/ directory and post back results. Btw do i leave hunkmegs to 1024? or set it back to 256 as it was by default.
