Why does everyone like the 2D-ish maps so much ?

nothing wrong with uptown as far as being designed as a map with several rooftops
-only problem is its inbalance in CTF....blue doesnt have enough spawns in key locations like roofs while red has several spawns that allow quick access to the most important area: the apartment rooftop
and there is nothing wrong with 2D maps... they are so popular because of the quick paced action it allows without all the campiness

Yup, but you make it sound like we're generally too stupid to understand the "third dimension" as he calls it. I just say - I has nothing to do with that. Its just plain boring and slow. 2D is faster, less things to notice..
