I would like to try and start making levels with 3d's studio max, in the last urbanradio i think i heard that levels for the new urt are being created completely with 3d's studio max. Now i was wandering are there any tutorials/sites where I can learn to make levels with 3d's
I have a legit copy of 3d's studio max and i have completed all those pretty lame tutorials that you get with the software.
So if somebody from the dev. team (or somebody who is already working with 3d's studio max) could point me in the right direction... pls.

[quote name='"StonedLemming"]I might be wrong here' date=' but i think 3D Studio Max is only used too make the textures for the maps, which would need too be put in by using Q3Radiant.[/quote']
As he said: things changed The mappers are tending to using 3dmax for the entire map more now.

I posted a reply to this somewhere but I'll post again.
Try www.3dbuzz.com for tutorials. They have some good video tutorials. It's really easy making terrain in 3ds max instead of terragen. Export as an ASE and use spawnflags 6 to clip and lightmap it. Buildings are a bit more of a challenge to make especially if you want to go inside them. This is where the shell modifier comes in handy.

Well, not ALL of the team is building levels in MAX. Im building mine in MAYA and then packing them up for MAX. Unless of course twentyseven gets really generous and decides to make an exporter for Maya. But in all honesty there are so many exporters, you could probably build the level in any 3d tool you find to your liking. That would probably include MAX, MAYA, or XSi. I dont recommend milkshape, unless of course you are making a level that consists of 3 boxes.
Here is a look at what crenshaw looked like when I first drug it kicking and screaming from Radiant to Maya.
