BUT: Auto is too weak, Sniper too strong and DE is op

I'm expressing frustration that a core game mechanic is likely to being changed. There's nothing wrong with hit registration or weapon balance. Your assertion that people got used to the old system by "frenetically moving the cross-hair left and right hoping to hit" is completely wrong and a worrying statement considering who you are.

Can somebody explain to me what's wrong with the current system?

Since the current system can only hit (in longer sprays) by doing that left-right movement...then yes I stand by my comment. BUT I also stand by my comment since I know how the code works. And the current code is 'luck' based.

I will show later on the details with pictures.

I'm not arguing with your assertion that 'longer sprays' are luck based. Everybody knows that. My key point, which you are yet to address is: why this is a problem?
The current system has a high skill cap, is balanced and has worked for literally a decade. Why change it now?

That's a ridiculous argument. Have you met people? People complain about all sorts of things. Being loud is not the same as being right.
I'll get worried when guys like shans, hemp and camaroz think the game is broken.


I pose the question again. Why change it now?

Because now it is changed. Not then but now. If it was changed in a year's time, you would ask the same question. Resistance to change is normal and you still do not understand that this is a test beta where anything could change.

My legitimate concerns about weapon balance and competitive viability are being dismissed as 'resistance to change.'
Instead of answering my question you instead resort to ad hominems. I obviously understand that this is a beta. I understand what a beta is for. Why anything needs to change has been my question from the beginning. Unless you can address this issue then i really don't think there's anything to be gained from continued discussion.

I personally do not think you have tried it much. I would assume you need at least 10 good sessions to judge. We are saying, try it and give your feedback and not ask why the change is needed. Besides no conversation = no communication = misunderstanding.
