client side actually. just ~ /rate 25000.

not that i know of. I cannot even confirm the rate change would fix it, but it works for me and is worth a shot ;)

I got rate 25000 for years and still got this issue sometimes, not sure it's a fix, but maybe it is worse with the default 8000.

The main cause of this is the server having too many players on and the client taking a long time to load the map.

Basically the clients message buffer gets filled & overflows while the client loads a map. If theres a lot of players on a server and the client has the slowest computer, all the other players will enter the game before him. The server will flood the client with 'playerXYZ entered the game' & 'playerXYZ joined the blue/red team'. Your message buffer overflows and you get the error. But when you reconnect all the other players are already in game and so you dont get lots of messages and the buffer doesnt overflow.

Can the message buffer size be increased on the client with a var ?
Or is it a constant declared within the IoUrt.exe source code ?
Or declared in UrT .qvm?
Or something else ?

i like that idea pointed out. would increasing the message buffer size cause any side effects?
